How we live stream

A step-by-step guide, from start to end

Step 1 - Your streaming page

When your booking is confirmed we give you the link to your streaming page.

Your page is live immediately and stays online with a replay for three months after your wedding.

Your page is password protected, so share the password with your family and friends when you share the link.

Post the link and password on your socials, to lead your viewers to your private streaming page.

Read why we do not stream to Facebook, Youtube or Instagram here.

Step 2 - Pre-wedding briefing

Shortly before the wedding we will chat with you about the ceremony you have planned.

We want to be sure we know what to expect, so we can have the right set-up to capture it all.

We need you to have obtained the permission of your venue for us to attend and stream. This is not usually a problem, as we have our own insurance and do not touch any of their power or audio systems.

There is information for venues here.

Step 3 - Wedding day: before the ceremony

We are on the countdown with you!

Before we leave our office we run a live test-stream (not to your page) to check that all of our equipment is working. We have plenty of standby equipment and time to sort any issues out.

We will be on site and setting up one-hour before a single camera stream, and 1 ½ hours before a multi-camera stream. We get a link established to our cloud servers around 40 minutes before wedding.

Then 10-15 minutes before the wedding we take the stream live. This gives viewers time to settle in and sort out any issues with their device, and gives us time to trouble-shoot if things are not working as they should.

Live-stream backup plans

Our live-streams are usually reliable, but we are always at risk of outages or other technical problems.

We cannot guarantee that the stream will succeed - but we do guarantee that we will record the wedding in our cameras and upload a copy of the ceremony to your streaming page immediately after the event should anything go wrong. There is always a video for you to keep, regardless of the stream - read about our backup plans here

Step 4 - Wedding Ceremony

Our stream will be up and running 10 minutes before the wedding.

Prior to the bride’s arrival we will show the setting and preparations, then spin the camera around ready for the bride’s arrival as we come close to the ceremony.

We will have a lapel radio microphone on the groom, another on the celebrant and a third microphone on the speaker playing the music and house audio. This setup gives us good coverage of the bride, who does not need to wear a microphone.

We film and stream the entire ceremony and stay live for the congratulations at the end.

A replay of the ceremony is available about 30 minutes after the stream ends.

Within a few days of the wedding we replace the replay with a high-quality HD version, which remains online for three months.

You receive a copy of the High Definition video on USB.

Step 5 - Wedding Reception

We stream the speeches and first dance.

When we’ve wrapped up the stream of the ceremony we immediately relocate to the reception area so we can setup again.

Getting good sound is critical for the speeches.

We will setup microphones on stands at a focal point, where people will come to speak.

They can still use the microphones the venue provides for the in-house system, but our cameras need people standing in front of our mics.

We can’t rely on the venue’s audio system, as if anything goes wrong with it our stream goes silent - with our own audio equipment we have backups and the options to fix problems.

A replay of the reception is available about 30 minutes after the stream ends.

You receive a copy of the ceremony and reception edited together as a high quality High-Definition video on USB.
